My outlook (Office 2003) can't find my address book that is there. (I can see and open it), as a result, after completing a message and need to attach a recipient to the message I can't send messages out of OUTLOOK. I must note that I have just migrated from Windows outlook express ( all on the same machine with XP PRO Service pack 3) and successfully imported all the mail and addreses into Office OUTLOOK. I need help in making OUTLOOK find the Address book and extract names from it so I can use OUTLOOK as a mail program. Outlook 2003 doesn't have an address book. Your contacts are kept in the COntacts folder. The 'address book' is just a view of your Contacts folder.

When transferring from Outlook Express to Outlook, you should export the messages from within Outlook Express and then import the contacts from within Outlook. The former will preserve the Received time and date. Importing messages from OE using Outlook will change all the Received dates to the date and time of the import. RIght-click your Contacts folder and choose Properties. Select the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box labeled 'Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book'. Stop and restart Outlook.
I sold it with Windows 7 Pro but used the downgrade rights so that they could keep their existing XP Pro installation, which I transfered over from the old computer and updated Windows for the new hardware. Windows XP reactivated with no problems over the internet. Office 2003 however won't activate. 6.3.2 At present, all machines that need to be activated for RMS must connect to the Microsoft Web site (to obtain a unique “lockbox.” For activation, machines can connect to the Internet via proxy through the RMS server or can connect directly to the Internet. The lockbox is the location.

If you can't check the box, your mail profile is damaged. Close Outlook. Open the Mail applet in Control Panel and click E-mail Accounts>View or change existing directories or address books>Next.
Select the Outlook Address Book service and click Remove. Then click Add>Additional Address Books>Next. Select Outlook Address Book and click Next, OK, then Finish.
Exit the Mail applet. You should be able to start Outlook now and see the Contacts contents when you click Address Book.
Luckily, so long as this old version of Office is still installed, or at least was recently, you may be in luck. All of these versions of Office stored their product keys in the, in a specific. The stored product key is encrypted, but a key finder program can handle that issue, providing you with the actual key you can use to reinstall Office. Note: This process works for any of the various Microsoft Office 2003, XP, 2000, or 97 suite editions, as well as if you only have one or some of the suite's programs installed, like Word, PowerPoint, etc. How to Find Your Office 2003, XP, 2000, or 97 Product Key •.
This is a free program that will automatically find, and decrypt, the product key to your older version of Office. Note: Most will find the product key to any of these older versions of Office, but I've found Keyfinder Thing to be the most consistent.
Plus, it's very easy to use, easier than some of the others in my list I just linked to. • Wait while Keyfinder Thing scans the registry, locates the product key for your version of Microsoft Office, and then shows those keys to you. • Your Microsoft Office product key will be clearly listed and will be 25 characters long. Record the product key somewhere where you won't lose it again. Tips & More Information If Keyfinder Thing didn't work, by all means try another free key finder program.
These programs change and update on a regular basis and considering how old some of these Office versions are, support may be dropped. Other than that, though, you're left with buying a brand new copy of Microsoft Office. You'll no doubt have to choose a newer version of Office because your older version probably isn't available anymore. Also, as tempting as they may be when reading about them elsewhere, please don't use a you might find on some websites, or download one of those stricken. Both options are illegal. Newer Versions of Microsoft Office While the procedure above should work fine for Microsoft Office 2010 or 2007, there's another program that does a better job. See for that tutorial.
